Update from our CEO

Dear Member,

I wanted to write to you again today to update you on the steps we have taken to re-open our branches and make them safe for you, our members to visit.  

During these unprecedented times, the Staff at RWCU have been working hard in the background to continue to offer online and telephone services to members as much as possible, while keeping our members and colleagues safe but we have missed you all.  

I am pleased to let you know we are now in a position to reopen our Paisley branch as of Monday 22nd of June. 

Paisley branch opening times 
Monday 10am – 12 noon and 1pm – 4pm 
Tuesday 10 am – 12 noon and 1 pm – 4 pm 
Thursday 10 am – 12 noon and 1 pm – 4 pm 
Friday 10am – 12 noon and 1pm – 4pm 

At present we are unable to re-open our Rothesay and Dunoon branches but are working hard to get these branches up and running asap.  

If you are interested in volunteering in Rothesay or Dunoon and are fit and healthy enough to do so, please contact us on info@rwcu.co.uk  

We will close each day from 12 noon till 1 pm for a deep clean of the front counter area. Toughened glass partitions have been installed at each counter, social distancing spacers placed on the floor, both inside and outside the building, and a hand sanitisation station installed for members to use when visiting the office.   

Only two members may be in the office at any one time so please visit on your own where you can to allow other members to gain access.  

Where possible we would encourage cashless payments.   

We would also like to take this opportunity to encourage our members to support their local credit union when thinking of borrowing.  

As a not for profit organisation, credit unions rely on their members to borrow to keep the business flowing.   

We appreciate that during this time a lot of people may be struggling but if you are thinking of using credit please consider your credit union first. Our friendly staff are always happy to talk over options with you. 
We offer a variety of loan products up to £15,000 and are often cheaper than using a credit card, hire purchase, or even an overdraft.  

The staff are all looking forward to welcoming you back into our offices and appreciate your patience during this time.

During this worrying time of uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 we want our members to know that your local credit union is on hand to help and support you in whatever way we can.  

We understand that in these unprecedented times that many of our members will be facing financial hardship. We would ask that if you are struggling to make upcoming loan repayments due to a reduction of income, that you contact us immediately so we can help find a solution. 

If you can continue to make loan payments, please do as we also have staff and a business to maintain.

At Right Way Credit Union, we take the health and wellbeing of our membership seriously.

In light of the increase in cases on COVID-19, we have taken the difficult decision to close our branches to visiting members as of 4pm on Monday 23rd March 2020.

This is not only to protect our members but also to protect our staff and ensure they are still able to serve our members safely and without risk of exposure. We will miss chatting to our members face to face, but we all must be sensible and make the right choices.

We will still be working every day to serve our membership – just from a safe distance until we can safely resume normal services.

You can access your account from the safety of your home by downloading our App in the App store/Google Play by searching for ‘Right Way Credit Union’ or by logging online at www.rwcu.co.uk or by calling our offices on 0141 889 7442.

We endeavour to respond to all members as quickly as possible but please be patient during these challenging times.

As the coronavirus is becoming more widespread and causing concern and panic to a lot of our members, we want our members to be assured first and foremost that your money is safe in the credit union and although we may have to close to the public or reduce opening hours of branches, we will be working hard to ensure this has minimal impact to our members and services.

We would urge our members to register for online access. You can register for online access by clicking here or you can download our App from the App Store and Google Play by searching for ‘Right Way Credit Union’.

You will have access to your money, can view your account, withdraw and deposit into your accounts from the comfort and safety of your own home.

You are also able to send us messages online or should you wish to speak to us you can call us on 0141 889 7442.

In addition to this if you have been financially affected during this time, let us know. We are here to listen and to help find a solution for you. 

Please also remember, our phone lines are extremely busy at this time and our staff are working as quickly as they can to respond to each and every member but we would ask for your patience and again request that you register for online services.

We are following the guidance from the UK and Scottish Government and NHS Scotland; we want to assure you that we have contingencies in place for you to access your accounts in all eventualities.

We would also ask our members to be sensible and NOT come into the office where possible, particularly if you have any symptoms or have been recommended to self-isolate.  Everyone has a responsibility to keep themselves and others safe and we want to minimise the risk to our staff, so they are well enough to continue to serve.
